Creating a new font
As you can imagine, the first step in creating a new icon font within the Glyphs Mini app is to, well, create a new font. So, we're going to do that in this exercise as a way of getting our project started and also sort of introducing us to the Glyphs Mini interface. So I have Glyphs Mini open. I know it doesn't look like it because we're not really seeing any type of an interface. We're just seeing kind of a menu up top. So the first time you open up Glyphs Mini, if you don't have a font already open, this is pretty much what you see, which is, well, basically nothing. So I'm going to go up to File, and I'm going to choose New to create a new font. And at this point, now I get to see some interface here. Now, before we take a brief little tour of the interface itself, I want to go ahead and save this font. So, I am going to go to File and choose Save. And I'm going to save this in my exercise files. I'm going to go to the Chapter 4 folder 04_02, and I'm just going to replace the name…
