Using the exported CAD drawing layers in AutoCAD
- [Narrator] We're staying in our floor plan 00_Ground.dwg file, the exported CAD file that came from Revit. Now, in the previous video, we talked about our land-naming philosophies and how they came across adhering to that BS 1192 standard that we set up in our export setup that came out of Revit. Now obviously, once those layers are in your AutoCAD drawing, you're going to be expected to use them, because you're conforming to a particular standard. So, for example, if I zoom out a little bit, I might want to create a new grid line somewhere in the drawing. So what I can do there, is I can basically assess which layer I need, if I hover over that grid line, it's Z-030-M_GRID. So I go to my layer drop down like so, and I look for my Z-030-M_GRID, and make it the current drafting layer. So when I now draw a grid line on the AutoCAD drawing, it's going to be adhering to that layer naming philosophy, and I'm using the exported CAD layer that came across from the Revit model.
