What is a creative brief?
What is a creative brief? In simplest terms, it is a framework or foundation for your creative approach. It contains a summary of the key factors that will impact your design project. This includes really basic big picture information down to some very specific project particulars. A creative brief contains a concise summary of the background. Target audience. Information on competitors. The client's short and long term goals and project specifics. A creative brief will answer these questions. What is this project? What's the task at hand? Why are we doing it? What is the true problem or opportunity here? Who is it really for and why should they care? Where, when, and how will it be used? How will it be remembered and retold? What needs to be done by whom, and when should it be delivered? The answers to these questions may be simple, but probably they're not. However, these are the things that inform good design.
