Color mode

- [Instructor] CMYK, it's not just a good idea. Generally, the CMYK color mode is best for printing t-shirts, because the colors found in the CMYK color space, are easy to accurately reproduce with plastisol inks. The exception is if you're going to print to direct to garment, also known as DTG. With DTG, printers use a Frankenstein printhead to be able to directly print onto a t-shirt, rather than paper. Take a look at this video. This printhead is applying inks to paper, but it should give you an idea of how the process works. So the printhead is working off a digital file, a pixel-based image, and it's printing the t-shirt directly from that. And that my friends is why DTG can use RGB files. For the vast majority of your t-shirt designs, CMYK is the way to go.
