I think this is a great course for beginners. However, it does contain some outdated code and concepts. Spring Boot 2 hit EOL last year, and patterns like field-based dependency injection are no longer recommended. Furthermore, newer versions of IntelliJ feature much better error detection mechanisms and language transpilation support, making a lot of the "IDE did not catch this" moments from the guide non-existent.
