Shoot: At the top of the Montparnasse Tower
- The Eiffel Tower is undoubtedly Paris' most famous landmark. From the top, you can see and photograph just about anything in the city, with one noticeable exception. The city's most famous landmark, because you're like standing on it, right? So rather than climb the Eiffel Tower with the rest of the tourists, for our trophy skyline shot we're going to be going up another tower, which has a great view of the Eiffel Tower. We're going to shoot from the top of Montparnasse Tower, which is appropriately in the Montparnasse section of Paris. To get there, take the Metro to the Montparnasse Bienvenue stop, walk outside and look up. That's where you're going. Now, Montparnasse Tower is a photographer's dream compared to the Eiffel Tower. It's cheaper, at $20 or so to go up, the lines are much shorter, you can shoot indoors from the 56th floor where there's food and drinks and restrooms, or you can climb the steps and shoot from the roof of the tower on what would have been the 59th floor…
