Changing the playback speed of footage

Changing the playback speed of footage

- Normally when editing video it'll play back at normal speed but Photoshop does give you the option to slow down or speed up footage where motivated. Let me show you that. If you click here on the clips properties you'll see the ability to adjust video. Here's the normal duration controls and this allows you to, besides dragging the handles, make a change here to the clip itself. But maybe we wanted to slow things down a little bit for the big finish. Notice for example I can change the speed to 75% and the clip changes its playback speed but the duration was maintained. If I drop this down to something like 50% for example, you see that it still stays the same duration but what's happened is the speed has changed. So when we watch the shot here it's a dramatic, slow motion finish. Now this is a great way to tweak the story and add some extra drama. I'm going to go ahead and change that back to 75% and just adjust my in point a little bit and the out point so we see the boat cross…
