Limiting adjustments with clipping masks
- [Instructor] As you begin to work with more layers in Photoshop, you're going to want to control which layers are affected by the adjustment layers that you add. So at the bottom of the layers panel, I'm going to add the invert adjustment layer, and we can see that it affects all of the layers that are below it. But what if I want to isolate this so that it only affects the arch photo on the right hand side? Well, I can change the stacking order of my photos but now it's still affecting both the arch photo on the right, as well as on the left. Now I realized I could move the photo on the left above the invert adjustment layer but it would be just as easy for me to create what's called a clipping mask. With the invert adjustment layer targeted, I can choose layer and then create clipping mask. I can use the keyboard shortcut. I can also click on the properties panel to create a clipping mask or I can use a keyboard shortcut…
