The longer a camera shutter is open, the more likely you are to see unwanted movement. That's because the short shutter will freeze the action, but a slow shutter can result in small shake to the camera. Whether it's handheld or even if it's on a tripod but an unstable platform. Fortunately, Photoshop has a great Sharpen Tool to remove camera shake. Let's take a look at this historical photo here. It's in pretty good shape, but I want to really improve the details. I'll choose Filter, Sharpen, Shake Reduction. This'll analyze the image and attempt to fix it. Now until the exclamation mark goes away, it's a lower quality preview. I suggest you punch into 2X view here and drag to something where you can better judge. What we're looking for is the edges here. And I see that that's done a nice job of tightening up the details.
