Server-side rendering lets you optimize your applications to use client or server resources depending on network and device circumstances. Old device on a slow network? Render on the server. New device, fast network? You should probably let the client do the work. Some call the resulting architecture "universal," others "isomorphic," but the results are smooth. Learn about implementing server-side rendering, or SSR, in your React projects. Emmanuel Henri shows how to set up an SSR project with React and Next.js, add a centralized store with Redux, and configure custom routes with Express and Next.js. He wraps up the course with a discussion of code splitting, which can improve application performance.

    As someone already said, this is basically an introduction to Next.js. No in-depth explanations were given about how SSR works, everything felt surface-level and rushed. The content itself is outdated (class components in React, deprecated functions such as createStore in redux, etc.), but if you're experienced developer, you will probably find replacements easily. In general, do not recommend.

    I would suggest to rename the course to Basics of SSR with Next.js rather than React: SSR. There is many concepts that have been just ignored in the course with a video showing where to find information about such problem in next.js documentation. I was looking more for a pure React SSR implementation with all "the hacking" that needs to be done to achieve it.
