Horizontal, Vertical, and Ordinate Dimension
- [Instructor] Now in the previous video we focused on smart dimensioning, which adds dimensions automatically by moving around a part. Now we're going to look at horizontal, vertical, and ordinate dimensioning. All this does really is constrain us into what direction we're adding our dimensions and makes it a little bit easier if we have some orthogonal normal dimensions going on. So we find these under the smart dimension drop down, horizontal and vertical dimension. They essentially do the same thing. When you click on them you select two items or two points so I'm going to select this point and this point over here and it gives me the horizontal dimension between those items. Go ahead and click accept. I'm going to do that again, I'm going to click this item and this item. You can see no matter where I move on the screen it doesn't change, I'm only given that horizontal dimension. Hit green and hit accept. If I go in now and click on vertical dimension I can do the opposite. I'm…
