Server requirements for DirectAccess
- [Narrator] There is a remote access solution included in Windows servers that is an alternative to the VPNs that we've been talking about. It's named DirectAccess. And it's designed to give remote users the full local network experience from a distance. The VPNs that we've been working on so far have all been Microsoft implementations of established standards intended to work with systems that are not necessarily domain joined devices or even Microsoft platforms. But DirectAccess is a Microsoft proprietary gateway into your private network that takes full advantage of Active Directory to allow a domain joined work station, to connect remotely into the corporate network as seamlessly as if logging in from within the local network itself.
