Using construction lines
- [Instructor] In this example, we're going to take a look at how to build better and more robust sketches by using some center lines and some relationships. So in this case here, we've got a fully defined sketch and there's absolutely nothing wrong with this design. The problem is though, we've got a lot of things that are being repeated. So the general rule of thumb is if you have the same dimension called out more than one time in your drawing, it is too many times. So let's go ahead and see if we can't fix up this design a little bit better to get the exact same shape but have it be a lot more robust of a sketch. So the first thing I want to point out is where the origin is. Right here we've got the origin kind of the bottom left hand corner. And I really prefer to see something symmetrical. So let's go ahead and click on this little green box down here, delete that, and then go ahead and drag that corner over here and let's make that origin right in the center of this line. So…
